Ohio Department of Aging Ohio’s Department of Aging provides seniors in the state with a variety of programs to help them live independently and safely in whatever residence they prefer. Ohio Department of Veteran Services (DVA) The Ohio Department of Veteran Services works with veterans and their dependents on a variety of issues including financial assistance available to veterans, mental health care, housing and long-term care planning. Direction Home Of Eastern Ohio The local branch of the Area Agency on Aging, the Direction Home of Eastern Ohio helps coordinate services for seniors with other organizations in the area. The Direction Home works to close any gaps in services. They help seniors apply for the state’s Assisted Living Waiver. Designed primarily for low-income seniors in long-term care facilities such as assisted living residences, eligible participants receive 24/7 care and support.
