Brighton Manor

Highly DISAPPOINTED with this place!!!They did not return phone calls, did not allow visitors (other care centers were allowing), they kept personal belongings. My mother was sent to the hospital after four days of staying in this prison. The ER Doctor said she was extremely dehydrated malnourished and some other things that were noticed. My mom died! I didn't even want to give one star!

On the website it says there are kitchenettes & phones in the rooms. Not true. And you have to provide your own phone.

This place is terrible. When my sister has to have a BM, she has to go in her diaper. Putting on her call light doesn't help because, as the director of nursing admits, it could be 15 minutes before someone comes. They say they're short staffed, but when I was able to visit pre-Covid, I would go up to the desk & tell them she needed to go. They'd be standing around talking & would tell me they'd be doing rounds soon. But when you have to go, you can't wait for them to do rounds. They may be more short staffed because of the pandemic. And they don't return calls. I've been calling the administrator for several days about another matter & she still hasn't returned my calls. This nursing home is rated "poor" by New York State.

For years my loved one lived at Brighton Manor. She received quality care for the most of it. Only in the last 18 months has it gotten bad. They do not take care of their residents. Some are left in bed all day in warm weather with no water or beverages left near them. Response time for call bell is about 10 minutes. Health care is nominal at best. Medications are passed out as necessary, however if a problem exists they are slow to notice and respond. I do not recommend this place and recommend that all residents families to what they can to get them into a safer and more caring environment.
