Brookdale Bradenton Gardens

Turnover is extensive. I was surprised to discover they don't supply light bulbs for resident rooms. The nurses are kind and overworked. Staffing is low and they use agency. As a family member and a nurse I would not recommend this facility. The ED never introduced herself and the HD did not recognize my mother's name although she had been there three months. One blond nurse was very helpful and seemed apologetic while fixing the issue. My mom was on blood pressure meds and when I asked the med tech what her recent BP was she had no clue. Families talk to each other and other families felt they could not express concerns for fear of retribution. Memory care is poorly run. I transferred my mom to another facility. The Gardens treat residents as ATM machines, charging for items that we were told were included in the price. Thinking back, the woman who toured us didn't answer our questions but changed the subject. We paid privately for substandard care. Staff overworked, some had difficulty speaking understandable English. I did not know about this website before placement and wish it had reviews. So I'm the first. Sadly, my mom passed away. I will say they followed CDC guidelines and did not admit active covid patients. I would avoid this facility.
