Brooke Knoll Village

My father-in-law stayed there for just a short time and I am so glad that it was a short time because Brandon who was DON at the time was so full of him self, he talked a good talk but actions speaks louder than words, the RN on the 200 Hall is absolutely the worst, she chews her gum and could care less what I was asking or saying, her attitude was one of not caring, just getting a paid check along with a few of the CNA's, the Administration was more worried about Coffee all of her upper staff wanted, and when asked about her staff she said she would take care of it but nope she just lets a few of the CNA just be disrespectful when all the while it is the residents who pays for her salary and the Resident spoke person or what ever you call her is a total joke, she just smiles and acts like she cares but all she really wants it to get to chat with her friends and have coffee, which by the way they are all friends there that is how they got their jobs, so I would say yes the place looks beautiful but its what really on the inside that is wrong so run go another way and don't put you loved one in there just because it looks beautiful and they know who to talk the talk

My father has been at Brooke Knoll for 2 years. He had a neck injury 7 years ago and more recently was also diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Over the years, he was at 3 assisted living facilities and 4 rehabilitation/ long term care facilities. I can say without reservation that Brooke Knoll Village is the best facility of them all. Their rehab program is EXCELLENT and continues as a routine part of care (restorative PT) even when official therapy isn’t ongoing. As in every hospital or healthcare facility, there have been ups and downs with staffing and occasional problems. The key is that they have always listened, done significant trouble shooting, and addressed them one by one. The staff know my Dad, look out for him, and he feels “cared for”. Absolutely recommend this as a choice for either acute rehabilitation or long-term care.

They are currently in the process of kicking my grandmother with dementia out of a facility she has been in for 4 years. The reasoning they gave was one incident. Which first off before describing it, one mistake should not change a persons life, especially when you could be killing the person by kicking them out. But anyway my grandmother, who has dementia mind you, pulled the fire alarm and then unlocked their "secure facility" by reading the code next to the door. Now they are giving a corporate policy "one foot out the door" with grounds to kick her out. If she leaves she will probably not survive the year as a stable environment is VERY important for someone with dementia. Finally we have had many illegal actions in the past which we have ignored for the sake of my grandmother. But now I can only offer one piece of advice, DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR GRANDPARENTS. What they are showing with this move is that they do not care about their patients, only about the money it brings them.

Most of the nursing staff was great, the RN on the 200 hall was not interested in anything we had to say when we asked a question, she just keep chewing her gum, the front desk receptionist was not at all friendly, felt like I bother her each time I called, not sure why some people like that who represents the company still gets to work there would not recommend it to anyone unless some personnel changes were made.
