Chateau Living Center

The whole staff, nurses to nurses' assistants, to housekeeping to maintenance, to the laundry and "dietary" in the kitchen -- all are "on their toes". There are regular visits by doctors and medical technicians. Amenities can range from bingo to movies in the afternoons to weekday and Sunday Catholic masses and services by other visiting churches. -- In the evenings after supper, as residents settle down in their rooms for the night, a "snack cart" is brought around to different hallways in the building; there usually are vanilla wafers, a variety of other small cookies, sandwiches, and lemonade (juice). The staff person bringing around the cart always says that there should be more items to fill up the cart! Residents look forward to the extra treats. Items run out quickly. -- There is also physical therapy, a central patio, weight scales, an atrium full of potted plants (and artificial ones, too, that look astonishingly real) and groups of chairs with tables for conversation, and two dining rooms. -- NOTE: I came to The Chateau to recuperate from a right-side hip replacement; I have been on assisted living here, but my hope is that soon I will be able to return to the house that I own and enjoy independent living there.
