Golden Palms discharged my mother with minimal to no instructions. I was handed medications and was told the instructions were printed out. I was not taught how to administer new medication (insulin) or what supplies (syringes and alcohol swabs) I needed to administer the medication or how to store the medication. I was not told that prior to giving medications I needed to take blood sugar levels and blood pressures so these monitors were not given to me nor was I informed that they needed to be purchased. I was not instructed on how to clean the wound or any follow-up care or anything I should be on the look-out for (fever, redness, swelling infection, etc.). I was not given any instruction regarding follow-up doctors visits such as being provided appointment times that they had arranged for her. The nursing staff did seem to care about the patients. It seemed when I was ready to take my mom out of there the administration just didn't care. Seems the corporation was just after the insurance money and couldn't wait to get a new patient to take her place. Within 10 days my mom developed a staph infection and was re-hospitalized for complications from her original procedure. I recommend you ask a lot of questions before and after your time at Golden Palms rehab.
