my grandma was just there during christmas due to her heart condition and not being able to walk. while staying there she got a UTI and became very altered. she did not seem taken care of and obviously was not monitored because she fell and had to go to the emergency room. the staff did not see the fall and did not even notify us or provide proper information for the ER staff. my grandma called us from the ER when the nurse gave her a phone. do not let your loved ones go here. clearly a very hazardous facility that doesn't care about their patients or well being.

My husband came home from Heartland in worse shape than when he went in. He was sent there after being Septic from a UTI. He was very weak. He came home in worse shape than when he went. In less than a week he was back in the hospital with Pneumonia, Septic from UTI that apparently never was resolved according to his Doctor. And he had ECOLI. No way would I recommend Heartland.

4/8/19- I was released from Baptist South to continue rehab at Heartland. I arrived at 3:45pm via Wheelchair van, I was told my room would be changing, but I could put my stuff in the currently assigned room. However, no one helped the driver with me, he had to wheel me into the room, help me sit on the bed & put my belongings in the room that I shared with another patient. It wasn't until 5pm, when my husband came to visit that he had to ask why I was left alone, sitting on a bed. The experience went from bad to worse. I was expecting pain meds within an hour of arriving, but they were so poorly staffed, I didn't receive anything until 8pm. Needless to say that I was not impressed with their performance. I left the facility after 2 days, they did nothing to help me and their care of the patients at night was a joke.Average time for someone to appear after pressing the nurses button: 30 minutes (I waited over an hour twice)They did not notice when someone peed in the bathroom, I stepped in pee Tuesday night around 12:45am. I had to tell the person I needed my feet washed because I didn't want to go to bed with pee on my feet. The night shift group act like you are an inconvenience and make no effort to be proactive. My roommate peed in her bed 3 times while I was there and they weren't timely with her medication. I had to ask for my medication everyday for my back. The shower is down the hall and you have to be on the list for a shower. Physical therapy was supposed to happen twice a day. I was evaluated and left alone the rest of the day.If you have any other options than Heartland, try them. Otherwise I hope you have an advocate to keep them on the ball, because they do not treat you as a client, but as a burden. I left the place on 4/10/19 because the care was atrocious, they say they will fix things, but it's only lip service. I feel awful for those patients who can't leave, the place is depressing. There was only one daytime nurse, Carol G. who treated her patients with compassion, the rest seemed to think we were all pains.
