Heritage Manor of Opelousas

Gave 1 star because that's the lowest I could give. Staff, not all, lies and says things to make it seem like they're a great facility. I called several times and was told that I had to speak with the social worker(Karen), who always seemed to be unavailable. My mother had to be taken to the ER and the attending physician told me that my mother wasn't eating. He stated that no matter what they told me at Heritage Manor, my Mother wasn't eating. I called Heritage manor about this and the head nurse I spoke with said that she would look into it. While we were on the phone, she checked what my Mothers' weight was when she came in vs what it currently was. There was significant weight loss. I advised her that they had to feed my Mother due to her blindness. She insured me that she would look into the matter. She did call me back and say that she watched the aid(without her knowing) feed my Mother. I felt that I was only told this to try and convince me that they are doing their jobs. I honestly feel that they are trying to limit visitations so that you aren't able to see how things really are over there. I spoke with several former employees and people who have loved ones there and got the same response. They would not recommend this place!! My Mother is there because she needed 24 hour care and we weren't able to provide it, and that's the only place that we could get her in

Learn more Wish I could give this place a no star , I wouldn’t recommend this place to put any of your parents , this place could careless about anyone in there facility . My mom had back surgery and went to this place for rehab god I wish we wouldn’t have went there . For starters they don’t see about them at al are even listen to them . My mom was in her room crying with pain and asked them to bring her to the ER and no one did anything until my sister went there and demand them to bring her to the ER and come to find out my mom had a dangerous bacterial infection in her spine and had to have another surgery which had her in the hospital for about a month . So she goes back to this place and they still don’t tend to her , every time she would press for them it took at least 30 minutes are more for someone to go in there to see about her , some mornings when we would go our mom was dirty . She even got a bed sore because they weren’t taking care of her . Some of the staff are great but a majority of them are useless . The food was horrible what they feed them over there I wouldn’t feed to my dog . We have tired talking to the manager Cody that is about as good and a tick on a hog and as for Eddie Burland that is useless talk to him too and he tries to make up excuses and nothing gets done it all about the money they get from these poor elderly people . My advice for anyone who is considering to put someone there please don’t . They run this place , senior village and another one out here in Opelousas
