I would give a zero if it was an option. The management and staff are woefully under-qualified. My mother-in-law was there for a short period and it soon became clear that they were only able to care for two types of residents, 1) those who did not need professional assistance, and 2) those who were for all intents and purposes comatose. They claim to have a video security system, but if you try to get a look at recordings there's always a reason why you cannot see it even if it involves a family member and a supposed rule infraction. They handle problems by calling EMS and sending residents to Alpena Hospital for observation. Inevitably the resident is released with no medical issue. Sometimes they call the county sheriff to threaten arrest of 70 - 80 year old residents. And they have abandoned their residents issuing an 'emergency medical discharge' that gives the family 24 hours to remove the resident from the premises. The manager is totally unqualified and lacks the compassion that is needed to provide assisted living care. The example she sets infects most of the staff, which can usually be found chit-chatting in the front office. I wouldn't drop off a rabid stray dog for care at this facility - it's really that bad.
