PLEASE advocate for your family members!Social services, Head of nursing, and the Director of rehabilitation were extremely RUDE and unknowledgeable on several occasions when it came to answering questions of my father's care. Upon admission, I never had a care plan meeting or admission discussion; was told this will occur 24 hours after admitting and evaluation, but it never occurred. I would have to make calls through the week to the nurses station that would go unanswered (short staffed), had left message to previously mentioned "directors" with out return phone calls 3-5 days later. On my father's own account, his clothes were not changed nor he was bathed for 3 days. He had recently lost his wife (my mother) and suffered great depression because he was left in a room with very little interaction and limited tv for entertainment. I was told there were iPads to FaceTime and that I would receive a call to set that up but it never occurred. When directly questioned on what the care plan was that kept my father in the facility an extra 2 weeks, none of the staff could give a medical reason why. Upon release I did not have all his prescriptions or clothing and had to make a second trip to their facility to try to claim.

This facility needs a major overhaul in food prep. I have sent letters and info to the facility on what my Mom can eat and not eat. It is like they don't even acknowledge the complaint. My Mom is constantly throwing up the food. Right now, with the pandemic, it makes it that much harder because you can't get inside to talk to anyone. I guess it's a good thing that can't go inside. I love my Mom dearly and refuse to let her be treated this way. If this situation is not resolved, I will be contacting the State. Thank God my Mom has someone on the outside to fight for her. I know that some residents don't have any family to fight for them which is a shame. It is disgraceful that they treat elderly people this way. Shame on you!!!
