Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital

This facility has definitely declined from very good to mediocre (at best) in the 3+ years I’ve been a resident. The aides are generally quite attentive, but they are overworked since they are routinely short-handed and many good workers have either resigned or shifted to part-time work in 2021. The food is acceptable although the variety leaves much to be desired, is often lukewarm and regularly arrives much later than it should. Finally, the management here seems somewhat out-of-touch with issues that need to be addressed - namely, excessive noise from various residents - and are mainly reactive and not proactive in responding to the needs of the residents. Overall, you could do a lot worse than Levindale, but you also do a lot better elsewhere.

I am currently a patient in the acute rehab section. As with any place you have your attentive staff and those so not attentive. Some staff don't mind helping and there are others, well, we will just leave it at that. If you have specific dietary needs DO NOT and I will say it again DO NOT go there as they will not be able to help you. When I advised the dietitian she advised me I could grubhub my meals or have my family bring it in. Seriously, grubhub my meals. I thought my meals were included in my stay. She, Mary, the dietitian, also advised me that my family could bring in food and put it in the fridge, however, staff would not let us do that. They are DEFINITELY NOT meeting my dietary needs. PT and OT are really good.
