Life Care Center of Scottsdale

This is the worst facility I have ever been to. Screaming matches at 2 am between employees. Decrepit hospital bed with scotch-taped remote. Lack of hospital pads for bed-ridden patients. I laid in my own urine for almost 2 hours before someone answered my call for help. The public area looked like a 5 Star hotel but behind the scene looked more like bedlam.

I wish I had seen these reviews before sending our beloved family member here. It was a mistake, one I feel extremely guilty for having trusted these people with our loved one. She passed shortly after they finally sent her to the hospital. On Thursday. she began to have her severe stomach pain and should have been sent to the hospital immediately. They waited until she was completely dehydrated (almost 24 hours later) and on death’s door step to send her. She called us in pain and they said they would give her something for the pain and it was better not to send her to the hospital since all they would do was give her pain medication and immediately send her back. Upon arrival, the hospital stated she looked extremely weak & dehydrated and didn’t feel she was going make it. I thought this place was good because of the reviews on Medicare.gov (5 star facility), I thought I was doing the best for my family member. I am very saddened not that my family member passed because she was sick and she is now in peace, but that they made her last moments be one of so much unnecessary suffering where she felt helpless, alone and in severe pain for 24 hours. My family member was a strong woman and would not have called if she didn’t feel her life was in danger or needed help. It was an act of negligence. My biggest regret was letting them convince another family member to keep her there and not send her to the hospital. Also of note, in the first day she fell. She was there for a total of 4days

Stay away from this horror of a death camp. The staff is uneducated, rude, uncaring and mostly not even there. One nurse was semi-competent if you could find her, which was never easy. My son was there and at their Bell Road facility and passed away while at Dialysis, where he was taken from the Life care facility. I don't believe they should have let him go when they did...and I don't think they even checked his BP or vitals before sending him. The food is awful, the rooms are not cleaned enough or very sanitary. I wouldn't send my dog there.
