Life Care Center of Westlake

My mother has been a patient in the memory unit for 2 years. Many of the aides and some of the nurses have been excellent. Administration however has been terrible! There is never enough staff, good staff is let go and they retain staff they shouldn't. Repeated concerns have been brought to their attention with little resolution. The facility itself is in poor repair, and cleanliness is questionable. The memory unit does not have enough livable space for patients to enjoy a satisfactory quality of life. The food has been acceptable, even good at times. However, it is not always served in a timely manner, leaving residents sitting and waiting for long periods of time. The cost of the care is not commensurate with the quality of care or condition of the facility. I would not recommend this facility for your memory impaired loved one. I can't speak to the other units in the facility, only to say that the entire building is in poor shape. Carpeting is in need of replacement as are many of the chairs, and other equipment.
