My pop pop Alex was a resident for over a year on both the Garden memory care floor and then on the first floor when his mobility decreased. Multiple interactions with staff from EVERY department that exists at Lofland to provide for patient well being were positive experiences. Business, admissions, administrators, maintenance, nutrition, nurses, CNAs, Physical Therapy, Activities, social work, outdoor visitation helpers- Everyone! consistently cared with expertise and GENUINE compassion as a second family for Pop pop. He bravely was able to make the best of his very difficult health situation and shared love and laughter with other residents and staff because he was physically and emotionally well taken care of and knew they cared about him. Staff gently and patiently shared their knowledge about dementia in general and pop pop in particular to help me to be a part of the team approach to care. To his recent last days spent on earth and beyond Alex was/is loved by Lofland.
