My Dad entered this facility around Aug 2020! Being sent from a rehabilitation center in Greenville due to a fall and overall health issues! The building on the inside as well as outside is very outdated! Doesn’t look to be well maintained! But as looks can somewhat deceiving I decided to give it a chance! The Director is absolutely the sweetest lady ! Some of the nurses I have talked with are also very kind! But there is a huge lack of professionalism in this nursing home! With Covid restrictions I was only able to visit my Dad once! But I called every other day to speak with him! As he informed me not long after he arrived there the batteries were dead in the remote! Now you have to understand my Dad is bed bound! No visits because of Covid so basically all he has is the TV that was stuck on a real estate channel! So I called nurses station and asks if they could send someone to change batteries! They said they would send maintenance to his room! Now I’m calling every other day no batteries! So then they tell me they have to order remotes ! Which actually went on for over a month and the only reason my dad got one then was ( me living 4 hours away had to bring him one! So it actually took months for a remote) Which they never provided! When I was able to see my Dad the one time his hair was to his shoulders and his beard was horrible! I called and spoke with a nurse and told her I never in my life saw my dad look like that! I asked if they could please give him a haircut and shave! They told me yes they would put him down for haircut and shave! But as I called and asked my Dad have they cut your hair ( it was always no are not yet) I called nurses station repeatedly even asked if a aide could trim his hair ! They assured me yes they would get to it! My Dad passed away a couple of weeks ago and he never got a trim are hair cut! While this really bothers me! When you are bed bound some thing so little as a haircut and shave are very important! Even in prison they get to shave and get hair trimmed! Now this isn’t a prison! It’s a nursing home where people spend the last days of there life! Hair cuts and shave is also apart of hygiene! What if this was you and you were stuck in a bed and couldn’t get up! Couldn’t even turn a channel on the TV! Couldn’t have any kind of connection with the outside world! No visits! No tv! Your hair is the longest it’s ever been in your whole life! These people aren’t trash! They are human beings! Have more respect for your patients! Remember there may not be another tomorrow! Those little things aren’t so little any more!
