Mill Run Gardens and Care Center

My mother recently stayed for 6 weeks for rehab from surgery. She ASKED to go here as she had stayed here 2 times in the past for short periods and loved it. This time was completely opposite. The entire stay was terrible. They "forgot" to arrange transportation for her scheduled follow up Dr. appointment that was scheduled before she left the hospital. My mother had to end up making another follow up appointment and they "forgot" to confirm the appointment so it was missed yet again. Short story she did not end up getting any rehab done for about 5 weeks - which we are now being told has possibly limited her recovery % permanently. She was to be assisted with bathing and toileting. She got a shower - 2 times a week- and it was usually done late at night. The meds were dispensed- but several times- she was out of her room and they just left the medicine cup (with her pain meds) on her bedside tray. One day they only had 3 staff members working for the entire facility- 1 nurse who just passed meds and 2 aides trying to cover all the rooms. She waited sometimes an hour for someone to answer her button to go to the bathroom and meds were never on time. They ordered her a wheelchair to come home with- and ordered the pads to go with it (seat and back) After 4 days and no less than 15 calls back and forth to the supplier and Mill Run, we discovered that the pads had been delivered to the front desk the day BEFORE she was released - but were not provided to her - and in fact they denied it -until I continued calling everyone (Please understand-the box was about 3.5 to 4.0 feet tall....not something that should be overlooked easily.. It took me calling and providing the tracking number & the persons name that signed for them along with the address and date they were delivered to. After an hour or so, I received a call back that they had been found!!A few of the aides appeared to really try hard to meet everyones needs but they were just not able to do everything they were being asked to do. The cleanliness was lacking as well- they swabbed the floor sometimes- but I watched a gentleman walking down the hall - spraying the cleaner out of a spray bottle into the air. No mop, nothing to clean with- I guess to just make the facility smell clean? VERY VERY disappointed with the facility. She is back in the hospital now-I know she will not be going back here again!

This place is terrible!!!! The nurses do not respond to call lights.. my loved one was there for rehab and they allowed her to fall the 1st day she was there. I work in the medical field and when i went to visit them the 1st day there was a wheelchair at her nneed with wheels that did not lock and a walker that was about 6 inches too high. When asking the nurses for anything you get chin letter attitude and they refuse to give meds unless you ask for them and then won't bring pain meds when asked several times and my loved one was without pain medicine for almost 12 hrs just days after surgery. My loved one stayed here several yrs ago with MUCH different results.. the staff was kind, attentive, and soooo much different. It's very evident upon walking inside the doors that this place is a very very different place than before. They do NOT care about their patients.. at all!!! They do things that puts the residents at risk for falls and injuries.. i will be reporting them to the state for the ridiculously poor care that my loved one re received while there. They put her in danger every day and would not talk to me.. her power of attorney. Please do not send your loved one here.. they do not care about their residents and they do not put safety and care at the top of their list. If you love your loved one you won't let them stay here.

I have nothing but good things to say about Mill Run Gardens. My mom is in Long Term Care here I am so glad I got her in here. They keep the residents busy (if they choose to be) with crafts, parties, singalongs, Bingo, etc. Also, the care has been excellent. We are very happy with the aides and the nurses. They all seem to be genuinely caring and concerned with the residents' needs. Overall, I thank the heavens above for this place!
