My mom lived here for a year and a half. Admissions, Activity and Kitchen Staff did a great job. The direct care staff was great, but very very stretched and frustrated much of the time. They worried about getting yelled at. Turnover is a very significant problem. Seemed odd to me that the director and most of the middle managers avoided eye contact and didn't greet if you passed in the hall. My mom was in a wing for people with higher level needs. Staff turnover made it very difficult to get her basic care needs met. My mom went out of the security door in back of the building, got locked out, got hypothermia and severe cuts from thrashing around. This is not a locked facility, so I do not hold them responsible for this. However, I learned that she could not return to her apartment from the hospital, not from anyone at Moraine Ridge. They have not returned my calls inquiring about the security deposit or at least a final statement. Very poor management. Unfortunate because the place is nice and there are many dedicated and caring employees.
