My Dad ended up in Park Ave. after a stroke. We had heard negative reviews before he went there. We decided to form our own opinion. It was not a good experience for us. The communication there between the staff and the family was terrible. We would call and many times no one would answer the phone. When we did get through we would be on hold for at least 15 minutes before a nurse picked up...if they did. Since my Dad couldn’t pick up the phone himself we depended on a nurse to help him. It was a nightmare every time we called. When we called to see how he was doing we would get a “he’s good”, no details. It was like pulling teeth to get an update on his condition from the nurses. We were assigned a social worker to answer any questions we had. Again, another nightmare. She was either in a meeting, left for the day, or on vacation, and if we left a message she would leave and never call us back. When we finally did talk to her she would pass the buck and say she wasn’t responsible for many things we asked her about and gave us someone else’s name and email address. The staff just seems very uncaring and cold. Once we went 2 weeks without an update from his doctor. Again, that was the social workers job and she never followed up with us. After my Dad ended up going to the hospital for a week we had enough and decided we didn’t want him going back there. We have since transferred him to another facility. When he got there we found out that many of his clothes were missing along with some family pictures he had with him at Park Ave. I’m never one to write a review but I just had to voice my opinion on how bad Park Ave. is
