My dad was in this facility for 2 weeks before we decided to move him out. My dad has severe alzheimer's which they knew prior to him becoming a resident. Within the first 4 days my dad fell (that in itself isn't the problem) However what is the problem is when they called to tell me he fell, they told me it was because he doesn't tie his shoes very well. Of course not he doesn't do anything well. While I was there that same night a nurse told me they are having a hard time bathing him and wanted to know if I could do it. Really that is why we are paying for him to be there. over the course of the next week he managed to fall 3 or 4 more times. While we were there we observed the nurses with their face buried in the computer screen for a couple of hours not ever looking or interacting with the residents or noticing that one was trying to get out of her wheelchair without assistance. Now comes the billing. They quoted $280 per day we got the bill and it shows $236 per day and a private room fee of $44. I questioned them on the charge and they said the two charges are a total of what we were quoted so there is no issue. Well I disagree. First is in the memory care unit there are not any private rooms, and since there are not any private rooms to be billed a private room charge that is fraud. When questioning them again they decided to rewrite the invoice interesting enough it has the 2 line items still only the label has changed to say semi-private room. One has to wonder why for a semi-private room they have to have two line items. It feels have 1 of 2 things is going on. first is it is just blatant fraud. 2nd is they inflate the price to give negotiating room, oh 280 per day is too much well we can do $260 per day...None the less it is certainly deception. Speaking of deception, the next thing we found out is when they say they want the first month upfront they don't really tell you what that means for instance the when they say they want the first month and you start say on the 9th of the month and they bill you for 30 days that would imply that the first month is for 30 days and your next bill is the 9th of the next month. No what the mean is you are paying for 30 days upfront your next bill is on the first of the next month. Highly deceptive. Now on to the final bill. So when I asked about refund for his over payment they couldn't give me an answer to when it would be, I asked again and she sent me a copied sentence saying it should be mailed early next week. This is from Corp. I asked today which is now the week after they said it should be mailed and the response was it will come directly to us. I asked for the corp. phone number to which she said they don't give out the corp. phone number. Really this is a state licensed place for crying out loud I can and will get the number. In the mean time I wanted to share my experience, Be aware not a place suitable for residence.
