Ridgeway On 23rd

My mother spent a year in this memory care facility and looking back on her and our experience at Ridgeway I really can’t recommend this facility. I have photos of her foot swollen with gout which a nurse never even looked at although they say they have a nurse on staff. Nor did the staff even give her the OTC pain meds that the doctor recommend. I would say that the staff at times were not memory care trained professionals but just adult babysitters. Most of the staff were very young high school students or college interns. I found her sitting in the TV living room with all of the other residents with no slacks on but just short pj bottoms and socks because her pants were soiled. The staff made no effort to launder them but instead had her sitting in pajamas in the middle of the day. As far as the food that was served, these elderly residents preferred to have meat and potato meals, not salads or open faced sandwiches. There were many times that her family members had to bring in meals so that she would have a balanced meal. Looking back knowing that our mother needed memory care assistance due to her having dementia I wish we would never have had her in this facility and I can only hope that the so called nurse on staff is no longer working there.
