Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing

I was not looking for a lovely room or great food; I was looking for a top-notch therapy department. I got lucky and got all three! And more!My large and nicely decorated private room was spotlessly cleaned daily. The food was very good and varied---and always delivered hot to the table. If I didn't care for the special of the day, there were at least ten other choices to choose from---and no long wait to get them. The chef is an expert with vegetables; I had the best broccoli casserole I ever ate there. Four guests came to eat with me during my stay, and they all had positive comments about the food, as did my regular tablemates, who live in the assisted-living apartments. Have I mentioned the top-notch therapy department? Every day as I do my exercises at home I hear Stephanie and Brooke correcting my posture or urging me to work harder. Mia taught me some handy ways to accomplish tasks that are difficult when you can't bend, twist or lift. I worked with eight different physical and occupational therapists and they were all "all attention on me" and made me feel that my time was as valuable as theirs was.I was also impressed by the medical staff. I saw two of the three doctors on staff, and both helped with problems I was having that were not directly related to my back surgery. There were always two nurses on duty dealing with the assisted-living residents and the post-acute rehab patients. I felt that I was treated kind of special by most of the nurses, but I guess they make everyone feel that way. If my favorite nurse, Meg, does not go on to get her RN or higher, it will be a waste of a talented young woman.The aides seem to love their jobs. "B" and Nancy and Cookie, just to name a few, couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable and safe.I was very comfortable with the size of the facility. It was not too large and not too small; it was just right. There is a beautiful courtyard filled with flowers and comfy chairs, and a nice pat
