I have compared multiple facilities on the peninsula and this is definitely one of the better choices. If you are comparing strictly with other Assisted Livings in town, this building has much more to offer. As with any senior living facility there will be hiccups, but from what I have observed, the staff her really are there for the residents and do whatever they can to correct any issues that arise. Something I liked is that there is a full calendar of activities led by staff, but there are also many other opportunities for residents to entertain themselves with gardening (both inside and outside), theater room, library, gym, billiards. There may be more I didn't see. Each time that I have visited, the building has been bustling with activity, not silent and stale. There is also a lot of opportunity for residents to get out of the community by scheduling rides with the community transportation to restaurants, doctor's appointments, shopping, or whatever errands they need. The competitor's transportation is for facility activities and emergencies, otherwise they rely on public transportation. I would recommend looking at all of your options, from my experience each of the facilities are willing to give you a tour so you can decide what will work best for you and form your own opinions.
