South Bay Post-Acute Care

I would like to say that my mother died in the facility after a fall from her bed months after injuries she received from the fall from negligence on the part of the staff. When she was being bathed one of the staff members left the railing down and never put the right side railing back up and she rolled out and broke her right arm and hip and had other injuries which I believe eventually led to her death.Because her right arm was broke and she was is in such excruciating pain and she had pins in her body to put it back together again, she was unable to move or feed herself or even use the phone to talk to any one,(me). She was completely dependent on the staff and they always ignored her, and when I did get to talk to her she told me even before the accident, that she hardly ever got her meals.And the meals were crap, when she did get food it was really cheap crappy, skimpy food. Like rice and beans, or some lettuce, and they call that a salad. So she was basically starving, so for basically the whole time she was there, because I lived out of state, I would send her gift packages of food, and perfume, and other thing for her birthday etc. Then I found out that the staff, one person in particular was going through her mail, Gifts, and stealing stuff out before she gave the packages to my mother. And Yes I did file a complaint. So apparently my complaint is one of the 6, make that 2 of the 6 because I filed a second complaint after she fell out of bed! So don't BELIEVE FOR A MINUTE that only 6 complaints have been filed! The problem is that the county is understaffed and they do not do a DAM thing to follow up on the complaints because they have so many to look into!!! So No I would Not recommend this place to anyone who cares about someone, my mom was put in here by the system, a system that wanted her social security money and medicare/medicaid, because she was not able to take care of herself and her husband was unfit, and she did not want to leave the state or I would have had her live with me.
