Signature Healthcare of Putnam County

I visited my mother on August 2, 2021. and was very unhappy with the house keeping. The bathroom had odor that was unbearable. There was poop on the toilet rim, a bar of soap was caked and molded to the soap dish and looked like it had not been used for awhile, and the tub was dirty and had horrible rust stains in tub where faucet was dripping. The paneling or tile in the bathroom had been ripped out and not replaced and it looked like it had been that way for awhile. The garbage cans in the bathroom and in my mother's sleeping area were full and running over. We could not find her prescription glasses at first but finally found them on the floor between her bed and chair. There was multiple newspapers behind her bed, on a chair, and on her TV tray. I have seen pictures of condemned and abandon buildings that looked better than what my mother was living in. There should be an organization that visits healthcare facilities often to insure that sanitary conditions are met for the patients in their care and if there is one then they are not doing their job. I could only schedule a 30 minute visit and spent most of my visit looking for my mother's glasses and seeing that her needs are being met this should not have been so.

My mother has been a full time patient of Signature for years. She is very humble,easy to please, with dementia. I live in FLORIDA and not able to visit often my sister in Alabama visited this am. With only a 30 minute time frame ,to visit , she spent most of her time trying to get someone to dress her,clean the room and the nasty bathroom, that looked like it was under construction as walls are torn apart. Smell was terrible, the room was a mess. I had the same experience a few weeks back. My mother was in deplorable shape. Her water container had mold and mildew all inside. She has dentures and they lost the bottom ones, the top was so full of decay she could hardly eat. With dementia she knows not to clean herself. That should be their job. Where do we get help? I call complain, even to the owner. Temporary resolve. Everyone blames covid. If your job is to care for them ten please have someone check. I will be taking pictures the next trip and the media will be with me.

How about a review from an actual customer.. where to start. Horrible smell right when you walk in. Floors are sticky in the main halls and rooms are even worse. Nurses are stretched thin and I assume over worked. One of my family members stayed temporarily for physical rehab. The roommate had infection in her feet and they couldn't be bothered to keep the floors clean. Bathrooms are utterly gross. Do NOT send your family here. Not matter the reason.
