For my Uncle! This place should be Investigated and shut down! This rehab facility is only concern about the patient’s money/SS check. The Social Worker ***** called us so many time to get the payment for my uncle to be in their facility and received their services. I want the people to know please be aware and do not be fooled. It’s a trap to make people think that they care. They are money driven and lack every concern regarding patient care . It’s not about the patient it’s about the money. The doctors do not inform you of the patient health and never available, the nurses are lazy and Social ***** never return calls. My uncle was healthy and had only one issue. He was talking, walking and eating. Now he cannot talk or walk and he is in the hospital with several health issues holding on to his life. They told the doctor it was the flu shot but the doctor discover that my uncle health condition had deteriorated over time and the blood can tell the doctor what wrong with the patient internal body. My uncle was victimized with the time spend in this terrible awful rehabilitation facility. Please do your research before choosing this facility and believe the reviews when people are taking the time to tell you the truth about this facility and family member. Do not be fooled by Riverside Rehab team feedback as if they are concern. They know the public can see the reviews. The deception is to make the public think they care about your family member after the damage has been done and too late. God have mercy on the souls of the whole senior leadership, medical and administrative team! I have one Word of Wisdom for Riverside Rehabilitation how long are you going to mistreat the sick people and think you’re getting over when your entrusted to care for them.

I was coerced by care managers at NYU Langone to take my Mother here because the hospital could no longer do anything more for my Mother on medical terms. Some rep with tattoos named Richard Iwanski came with a story too as to how this place was incredible and state of the art with transportation services for the family and meals, just like a hospital, caring, etc. Showed up because the care managers Yazmeena and Lauren Harriott, care managers at NYU Langone, stressed me into taking my 79yr old Mother who has dementia out. Yazmeena came to me and said that the only way my Mother could stay the wknd at NYU was if I chose a facility and then I could leave on Monday. Lies!!! She just wanted to leave because it was Friday and coerced me with her unprofessional sidekick Lauren to push matters. Within an hour of my Mother being at Riverside Rehab I saw a mouse in her room! Another patient said this was the norm as another patient had mice go on her bed..she had also rang her bell for over an.hour and the nurse ignored her. When I tried to discharge my.Mother, no one was available at the front desk, understaffed, unprofessional, unethical..the social worker denied my Mother a wheelchair because we were leaving at our own will..UNPROFESSIONAL, DIRTY, PANTRY.HAS NO.SUPPLIES, UNDERSTAFFED, a ghost town on the weekends....even staff reiterates how the place is horrible and have heard horror stories from many. DO NOT TAKE ANYONE HERE..THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE

I am very happy today with my family. This place is the worst. Yet nothing/nobody does anything about the total un-professionalism of the entire staff. Including Jake Hartstein the so called administrator. My mother at this moment is being held there against her will. Everyone there play deaf,dumb,blind. You can,t get assistance or answers from anyone. Its incredible how this place is being run. The social worker ignores you never returns calls or keep you informed of anything. She sees you and practically runs in the other direction. I can go on endlessly with complaints that I have witnessed myself. Total nightmare - never again.

I wish you could give zero stars!!! We just had to remove my father from the facility only 3 days in, he was told he needed 20 days. The treatment and lack thereof by the staff was horrendous in nature. My dad who has severe COPD and is oxygen dependent, was first put in a room with the ceiling literally water stained and plaster falling from it. After several complaints went ignored, he was finally moved to another room. Once he was in the new room the staff disappeared. He needs assistance getting to and from the restroom. His calls were ignored for hours at a time and he was forced to soil himself on more than one occasion. He called home repeatedly upset and crying. When we reached out to the facility, phone calls went unanswered, ringing 30 times each call. When we did finally get through to express our concerns, the nurse had enough of it and hung up on us. Shortly after, he was brought to the bathroom and then left there for just short of an hour!!! He also had asked for a cord attachment to his light so he could turn it off at night. I guess his was broken. No one could be bothered to fix the cord nor come in to turn a light off. Yesterday we personally went there to see what was going on and it was not better at all. The excuses piled up quickly. They were understaffed, they needed to help patients on another floor, they were busy, etc...... Meanwhile, walking around you could observe staff members standing around doing nothing, on their phones, talking and laughing with co-workers!! While listening to this we observed rodents running rampant from room to room. Now, because we decided to remove him and not subjugate him to further abuse they refused to put in our request for home care visits (from an outside service) and also refused to write his medication prescriptions! As we were leaving, my father had to use the restroom. We were told they had no walkers for him to use. After complaints to 2 more staff members and almost 30 minutes later someone emerged

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PLACE TO SEND A LOVED ONE. THE NURSING STAFF ON THE 13TH AND 14TH FLOORS ARE DESPICABLE . THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS WORKING IN A LONG TERM CARE FACILITY LET ALONE BEING LICENSED NURSES. THEY ARE DISRESPECTFUL, OBNOXIOUX, LAZY, AND HAVE NO PATIENCE!!!! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE OR ANYTHING EXCEPT THEMSELVES AND THEIR CELL PHONES! THEY SPEND MORE TIME ON THEIR PHONES TEXTING AND TALKING TO EACH OTHER AT THE NURSE'S STATION THEN THEY DO ON PATIENTS AND RESIDENTS. I'VE PERSONALLY WITNESSED THESE SO CALLED NURSES IGNORING ALARM CALLS FROM ROOMS AND WATCHING RESIDENTS LAY IN THEIR OWN FECES WHILE THEY DID NOTHING FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR. THE ROOMS ARE DISGUSTING AND HAVE WALLPAPER AND PAINT PEELING AS WELL AS WATER STAINS ON THE CEILINGS. I'VE PERSONALLY HAD TO SCREAM AT NURSES TO GET THEM TO HELP MY FATHER AT LEAST 10 TIMES. THE ONLY THING THEY RESPOND TO IS BEING YELLED AT AFTER BEING ASKED NICELY 5 TIMES! I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SCREAM AT THESE NURSES TO GET THEM TO DO THEIR JOB! THEY WENT TO SCHOOL AND SIGNED UP FOR THIS! THE BEST PART IS THEY ACTUALLY ADMITTED TO MY FATHER THAT THEY ARE SHORT STAFFED AND HAVE TO COVER OTHER FLOORS AS IF THAT IS HIS PROBLEM OR FAULT. THAT'S A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. IN A PLACE LIKE THAT THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS SHORT HANDED WHEN THEY HAVE PEOPLE'S LIVES IN THEIR HANDS 24/7!!!!!!! THEY CANT WAIT TO TELL YOU BEFORE YOU GET THERE ABOUT HOW THEY REDID THE FACILITY AND HOW GREAT IT LOOKS BUT THEY FORGET TO TELL PEOPLE THAT PATIENT CARE HAS GONE TO HELL AND THAT THEY ARE MORE WOREIED ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE THEN THEIR PATIENTS ....OTHERWISE THAT MONEY WOULD'VE BEEN SPENT ON HIRING MORE NURSES AND REPLACING THESE CURRENT IDIOTS WITH COMPETENT NURSES!!! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS PLACE PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY OR YOUR LOVED ONES COULD END UP DEAD! THIS DESERVES ZERO STARS AND THESE NURSES ESPECIALLY NURSE KHAN SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR NEGLIGENCE. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
