Wilson Health Care Center

This place killed my father. It is horribly understaffed and the doctors are incompetent. The aide who admitted him ripped skin off his hand, it was bandaged there, and left for two weeks to cause sepsis, which killed him. My parents specifically chose Asbury because they have friends who live in the residences there. The Wilson Health Care Center does not deserve to share any of Asbury's reputation. Stay FAR away, and find a place with a good reputation amongst doctors. In my opinion, if you can find good care in your clean home, that's the very best possible option.

My husband could have die in Wilson Health Center, if my family did not visit him everyday.In one incident, I witnessed nurse aide pour 4 pills into his mouth at once. He could not swallow 4 pills at once, so he spited all 4 pills out and the aide threw them in the trash can. However, I found out on the patient's medication notes in the system indicated my husband took all the pills, when I went to nurse station to tell the nurse manager that he did not take his morning medicines.Thanks Goodness, my daughter and I were able to visit him daily. We found him was laying in bed Deep Sleep. We thought he was over tired and we left him alone. The next day, he was still in bed unresponsive when we visited him. My daughter went to nurse station demand to send him to hospital. We were shocked to learn from the EMS report that the nurse station staff told EMS driver that my husband haven't eat or drink for 2 days. Apparently, the staff in Wilson Health Center did not do anything to help him.The Emergency room doctor and nurse were shocked to found his Foley Catheter was filthy and clogged, which caused him to had kidney and urinary tract infection. We learned that ??the nurse aide just empty the urine from the bag, and they did not change the bag, neither change the Foley Catheter all those months. He lost 40 pounds and got weaker during the months stay in Wilson Health Care Center. He looked almost like a skeleton.We decided to bring him home after he got discharged from hospital. That was the best decision we ever made.We had Home Care physician, nurse, therapist to care for him 2-3 times a week.Now, he was able to walk across the bridge at Rio Washingtonian. I am hoping this post will inspire anyone to do research diligently before admit their family/love one to health care facility like Wilson Health Center. Don't make mistake like we did which almost cause my husband's life.
