Windsor House

My dad had a heart attack and was placed here because of his insurance and availability for some rehabilitation. He is a widow and has no family in Alabama, I live in New York State. I’ve been talking with him daily and called Windsor House regarding his diet. They have been serving him fried food. The dietician told me that some people need the fried food to gain weight?! I understand it’s a facility that is making food in mass amounts, but that makes no sense. Fried food isn’t good for anyone (fun to eat sometimes ;)) For my dad, who just had a heart attack and is there to recover- this makes no sense. The staff in charge of diet was rude to me. I would bring him food daily if I lived there. It’s terrible knowing that anyone isn’t getting proper care. I’m hoping this review sparks a change in attitude from them. I may be in New York State, but I’m not going to just let my dad be treated like this.

Our family placed my mother at Windsor House Memory Care when she couldn't pay for the more expensive care. She had walked and danced for long periods of time prior to moving to Windsor House. The day after she arrived, they put her in a wheel chair, and she was only out of it when family came to walk her. I missed 10 days from visiting her and came back to find she couldn't stand for more than a couple of minutes. I would often would arrive to find her and 10 others sitting in the "social" area with no supervision. On several occasions I arrived to find the women sitting in their urine. When I entered Windsor House, I would often see the Memory Care staff at the nurses' station in the nursing home. Each time I visited, I rarely saw more than 2 staff members. I often observed women in their beds for the majority of the day, even eating meals in bed.When my mom became worse, they left her in the bed because she could not sit up in the wheelchair. The staff did not check on her more than 3-4 times a day, even though she was dehydrated.

Honestly they need shut down. No care for paitents what so ever! Leaves them in their own feces for hours, doesn't care if they have the stuff needed to use the bathroom. Absolutely horrible
