Starting Point is an aging resource provided by the Macon County Health Department that helps seniors coordinate care, house, transportation, health insurance and Medicare as they age. To qualify seniors must be over the age of 60 and a resident of Macon County.

Seniors over the age of 60 that live in Decatur are eligible to utilize the handicap accessible Senior Transportation Program. For a round trip fee of $5, a DMCOC bus can take riders to medical appointments, shopping or to a congregate lunch. The service is first come, first served and is only available between the hours of 10 am to 2 pm on weekdays.

Run by the DMCOC, the Senior Nutrition Program serves hot meals to seniors at six sites spread out across Decatur. Homebound elderly residents may also qualify for home delivery.
