Established in 2008, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rehabilitates homes for elderly, disabled and low-income individuals across the Macon-Bibb area. In addition to owning and occupying a home for at least two years, participants must be low-income and over 60 years old. Rebuilding Macon installs mobility aids in seniors' homes, including handrails, low-threshold showers and wheelchair ramps. The organization's work is community-funded, performed entirely by local volunteers.
