Canton Oaks

My grandmother is currently in their care and without Canton Oaks and their staff I'm not sure she would still be alive. Before Canton Oaks she was bitter, lonely and didn't want to talk to anyone. Let's not forget a heavy chain smoker. Since she has joined Canton Oaks, she has quit smoking (after smoking for more than half her life), she plays bingo and interacts with other patients and staff. Her room is always clean and she always has what she needs or wants. Staff seems to handle her "grouchy mood" with grace and love. I'm beyond happy we found this place for our grandmother. I have seen first hand how this place treats their staff and patients like family.

Twice we arrived to find my mom covered in feces. Numerous times she would in a chair out in the hallway because her roommate didn't want her in the room. I was called numerous times to come up there and give her medicene because the medication side was from Russia, yes Russia and couldn't understand so she would hand meds to the elderly like they were aware and one try they don't take meds she walks away. The place is beautiful on the inside and I have to admit this was one of the better ones out of the 7 or 8 she stayed in but you need to be willing to come and check on your loved ones or they will be ignored.

My husband is bedridden he was there for approximately 2wks in the time he was there he was allowed to sit in a dirty diaper for over 30 min twice and it took them over an hour to get him his pain medication. Then when it came time for him to come home they did not want to provide the equipment he needed . They gave me the excuse that they dont do that he needed to see his primary which is not true since there was a doctor on staff that saw him. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
