The only good thing I have to say about the place is that there are some really sweet old folks living there. They deserve so much better. My Dad was is “rehab” there. He stayed for 3 weeks and had 1 shower and then another where they put his dirty clothes back on. There was a closet full of clean clothes. Both showers had to be requested by me. He was cooperative all the time. The therapists are good and the few nurses but not near enough sincerely care. Food is terrible for the most part but the food workers are very kind. I seriously believe if you are a resident who has no family, you would be dangerously neglected.

I have been in long term care as an RN for 15 years. I had my mom with Alzheimer’s admitted for one month. It was the most horrible experience. Then they kicked her out because they said she was incontinent on the floor. My mom had lived with me for 9 years and then I moved her for the remainder of her life to a MUCH better place. Guess what? She was never incontinent before or after her stay at this so called nursing care center. They kept her bathroom door shut all the time. With Alzheimer’s she didn’t know where the bathroom was. She was treated very poorly, ignored and talked down to frequently. Any time I tried to ask questions or bring up concerns nicely the DON and ADON were usually gone by 3pm and the admin hides in her office all day. They refused to walk or even get up other people at all. It is deplorable. And I could go on and on.
