After dad fired the last company I called Home Instead. The differences from the previous agency to this one were enormous. First, a case manager came out to assess our needs. Dad was still stubborn, in denial about mom's needs, and as a caregiver, I was at my wit's end. Jan was a great mediator and finally got my dad to see that help was needed and he finally agreed! Her facilitation was priceless to me. The requirement for 12 hours a week seemed like a lot at the time, esp. b/c their prices were slightly higher, but we soon realized it was well worth it. Higher prices mean better employees who remain with a company, in a field rife with turnover. Stability of caregivers is essential when dealing with dementia. The aides that were assigned were fantastic. A second case manager came on scene when the aides first started, and checked in on-site another time to make sure everything was going smoothly. Both aides had a great understanding of memory care as well as the ability to understand and work with my Depression era dad, who at times can be eccentric. I'd highly recommend this company for in-home care in the Livonia and surrounding area.

My mother was in a motorcycle accident 11 years ago. We have had many services to come to her home for 24 /7 care. By far Home instead has been our favorite. It's nice not to have to worry if someone is going to show up.

We have been using Home Instead Senior Care for about 6 months now for my father. Their kind and professional care has allowed him to stay in his own home. It has also provided my sister and I peace of mind knowing that he's well taken care of when we can't be there. It took awhile to find the right team of people to care for him, but HI worked very hard to make sure he had the right fit. One of the benefits of using an agency is that if someone can't make it, they find coverage right away. This has been very reassuring and helpful to us. The office staff is very responsive and friendly whenever we have contacted them. They have also contacted us when their staff noticed a change in his condition. Overall, we have been very happy with our experience with Home Instead!

I've dealt extensively with management I find their people to be extremely conscientious very professional, caring, proficient and very accommodating. You are my forth company that I’ve gone through this year. The first company they burnt out the young lady she was amazing. The last two company sucked big-time. They were absolutely the worst. The very last company last two caregivers they were high on marijuana. Wow!The quality of caregivers you have are so far ahead of everyone else. Carol/Deb are the most experienced woman that I’ve ever worked with they help me almost like personal assistants.Then on the weekends, I get this little spark plug of a young lady Katie, so full of energy you can’t be in a bad mood if you wanna to. I didn’t have to ask for you to send me the bill for each month. So that I can look at to make sure your billing for the correct ours. Words cannot even begin to tell you what a blessing your CareGiver has been to my husband and myself since she started taking care of him last August. I thanked God every day for her. He connected with her from day one and she was an absolute God-send for our situation. Home Instead is so very fortunate to have a caregiver like her. My mom needed help taking care of my dad. He has sundowners and can be up all hours of the night. Great family owned business and I have found they will really work with you. Also very flexible.

Thanks to Home Instead I live out of state and they are currently taking care of my mom. They have taken so much pressure off me and my siblings. I come back and visit each month and knowing my mom is safe while I’m away has been such a blessing. The schedule is flexible and their able to take care of all my moms needs dealing with her Alzheimer’s. Thank for for your honesty and patience helping our family.

My parents currently have service with Home Instead Senior care. My dad has Alzheimer’s and mom has Parkansons. It’s been a difficult time. All the CareGivers have come with great training and show great patience with my parents.

Had a fantastic experience with his company. I’ve used multiple companies in the past and Home Imstead was by far the best. Customer service and CareGovers were amazing. They treated my mother great. Very impressed what they could handle. Thank you their entire staff.

In fairness to the owners we had an erratic schedule due to the nature of the situation. My 91 year old mother with dementia had fallen and sustained a closed head injury resulting in needing round the clock coverage. Assured that they were up for the task we hired them for the day hours. Each day I would leave a detailed list of what needed to be done, calling during the day assured that things were gong well. After a while she told me she felt talked down to and they would just stare out the window. After a recent conversation with the neighbor across the street who works from home he confirmed what I already had thought, he said all they did was sit on the porch without your mom and talk on the phone. Shame on you for taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable time of their lives, taking money for services you were not providing. As an aside I also believe one of the caregivers stole a beautiful bowl off of her hutch. Never again would I hire this company. I am finding on this journey that these companies claim to be able to take care of dementia patients in reality far from it.
