Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing

The registered nurse I had ‘Devanie’ was kind and always knew what I needed. The PT & OT. (Kim & Roy) were great help getting me back on my feet. However this is predominantly a nursing home with elderly with serious physical and emotional needs. The administration staff and social worker horrible at communication and no consistently in assuring things I needed for example. I was there two weeks never got a shower or clean socks that I had on since hospital transfer and I have diabetes. Aides at night and weekends inpatient and had to repeatedly ask for things needed. If you left them alone and didn’t ask for anything you’d be ok. Food awful and sometimes I didn’t eat to prevent getting I’ll. Example. Bloody raw chicken. I went there after knee replacement at LIJ to get medical care stabilizing BP & sugar and on site PT but I wouldn’t recommend. I was far from home and visitors told not aloud but weekends other patients had visitors. If insurance continued to pay I would have still been there so Lynbrook could make money so I am very much better having come home although I’m home services hard to get consistently to show up. I felt if I stayed any longer I would have contracted staff infection or worse. There are three people I mentioned that genuinely cared about my care and treatment. Admissions and social work department incompetent.
