Manorcare Health Services

Mom was at ManorCare Indy South for 7 months. Thanks to the pandemic, I never got past the lobby to see how little was being done on her behalf. Even as POA, I was not included (even by phone) in her Care Meeting. It was a difficult and repetitive effort to establish communication with staff. I sent her multiple cards for Christmas, Valentines, & her birthday- in my mind picturing them brightening up her room. Upon her discharge (when I moved her elsewhere) ALL HER MAIL was returned to me- UNOPENED! NO ONE had helped this LEGALLY BLIND woman with any of her mail. Our Christmas gift to her was also returned- bow intact, untouched. The few small Christmas decorations that social services said would be appropriate for her room, were never unboxed. I learned of her "complex would treatment" from the BILL, not from anyone calling to notify me of skin concerns, as is legally appropriate. The day before her birthday, she was moved to a room with no phone, at the same extremely high private pay rate. Included in the boxes returned to me, were: heavily soiled panties, and other women's clothing. I could not possibly recommend this place to anyone.

My relative has been there approximately 4 months. She’s deaf and needs a handicap caption phone. I took one to them.. STILL NOT HOOKED UP 3 1/2 MONTHS LATER????? WHY??? I’ve been promised every week it would be done. Instructions are in the bag with 3 steps. I even offered to pay to have it plugged into the phone jack!! She can have NO CONVERSATION WITH ANYONE. You can’t visit her bcuz of Covid. I do go and stand outside her room window and mouth I Love Her!! I live in St Louis and I’m only living relative. I’ve been promised time and time again and they never go thru with it. What are my options?? Calling the state board?? Please if anyone has ideas write an answer.

this is one place i will always think to carry my kind to for any reason and i will always have a space for respite care for them they are the most of most who cares about the patient and not all bout family thought they will explain the procedures very clear and family choice is up to them. i ve been with this company for two years and proud of em see ya monday
