Peak Resources - Alamance

My mother was sent to the Graham facility from the hospital. She was thrown into a bed and basically ignored for three months. When I picked her up March 3 she could barely put a sentence together. In reading her discharge papers, I learned they had been giving her meclizine 3 times daily. That's why she slept 20-22 hours a day. Within 24 hours of not taking that, she could carry on a conversation and move around a great deal better. She has some seasonal allergies but nothing a claritin couldn't handle. While sleeping 3 months, she lost most of her muscle mass from lack of care and movement. PT was so little it's laughable. If I could rate Peak -0 I certainly would. It's going to take months of actual PT to regain her muscle mass and movement. This is an awful place. Every resident I saw was either asleep or looked miserable.

If I could give a half star I would. Don’t be fooled by the appearance of the facility which looks nice and welcoming but the staff with the exception of a couple are absolutely horrible. My mom went there for rehab and the admin staff never communicated with my family about the staff assigned to my mom (Social worker, nurses etc). The ineptness of the nursing staff caused trauma to my mom with her catheter causing her to be sent to the hospital. My mom went a few days without being bathed, her clothes were misplaced and they put other ppl’s clothes on her and acted like it belonged to her. Nursing staff would embarrass my mom when she soiled herself. She was afraid to ask nurse or so-called CNAs because they were nasty towards her. I could say a lot more but to continue speaking about them makes these people more relevant than what they are. please send your loved one somewhere other than this place.

I agree 100% with the reviews regarding this so called assisted living facility. They are not trained in any area pertaining to care of anyone especially seniors. Matter of fact I'm at a complete loss as to how this is even still open. Believe me by the time News 2 and Fox 8 get wind of the circus that goes on up there I can assure you it won't be long. I wouldn't recommend this pos facility to even care for a fish. PEOPLE BEWARE YOU WILL BE BROKEN HEARTED TO EVEN CONSIDER PLACING YOUR LOVED ONE THERE
