Words cannot express how dangerous and cruel this place is to our elderly-my father-in-law died just a couple of months after being admitted for rehab after a stroke. It was fast-so fast, that we knew things were really wrong and told the staff, upper-management and HHS that the code was changed to comfort only, they refused to recognize that he had great coverage, they denied him therapy and then changed their story back and forth, withheld important information, never even gave us the opportunity to have a proper care plan and when we got the records after his painful death...it was obvious that it was worse than we ever thought and the records show the indiscrepencies. We found documents (Palliative Care ) signature that was different than the one we signed, and then found a DNR page that was not signed by us-yet has a copy of our signature. Please....go anywhere but here and please report what you see and what you know to be true if you work there or have witnessed wrongdoings. They never even gave us the option to give him a feeding tube, he had a huge bed sore and he died a slow death. We went out of town and when we got home-we couldn't believe his state. He died just days later. The claims still have not been sent to the insurance company, the social worker literally told us "we're not discussing the MSD assessment today and she's not even licensed with the state yet her card says that she's a social worker (noncomplient). The lead financial/administrator lead the way and I will not just stand by and let her treat others in such an inhumane manner. They're bankrupt and financially compromised. I don't say any of this other than I worry daily about those individuals in their care. It's still so difficult to process...but it is reality. Sagebrook and it's staff stick together and actually allow this to occur in front of their eyes and no one cared, helped or reported. I have no words and my actions (telling others, reporting, justice) will be my only peace-I pray for God to lead the way. Stay safe....it's not about the food, the crafts or the image of people who care! It's the treatment of others and those who stand by and watch without empathy or even basic human reactions to our elderly suffering. Please speak out!
