Senior Home Companions

The marketing person at Senior Home Companions was kind and did a good job. We got a vaccinated caregiver. We thought things were fine for quite a while, other than she was clearly unhappy at her home, then having other issues she talked about. In the past several weeks, she talked about working closer to her home and proposed a part time schedule for herself after lobby us for 40 hours. That's fine. Everyone needs to take care of themselves. Things change. But then the caregiver left without notice, all the while claiming she was staying, right up until the last moment. That's one thing. But she did this with the help of her supervisor/case manager. We treated her like gold, with deep respect and appreciation, giving her the hours and flexibility she wanted, and she abandoned us. Moving on is fine. All I ever asked for was proper notice. Instead she snuck away. I choose to wish her/them well, though my trust meter is now low. I suppose everyone is doing the best they can. Still, honesty is the best policy. Or so I believe.

While the caregiver assigned has been a godsend, we are not happy with the company itself. Calls are not returned, in one instance the caregiver had a family emergency and a replacement was not sent even after we were assured one would be. Again, no one called and my sister was left alone. Thankfully a neighbor stepped up to help her.
