Medilodge of Wyoming

My mother-in-law broke her hip and was placed at Medilodge of Wyoming in subacute rehab. She was quarantined due to Covid so we were only allowed window visits. She was there for 12 days and was sent back to the hospital because her new hip got dislocated. She had to have another hip surgery and was sent back there and had to start another 14 day quarantine. This time she made it to day 6 of the quarantine and she ended up at the hospital again. Once again she went back to Medilodge of Wyoming and she started the 14 day quarantine all over again. This time she made it past the 14 days and we were allowed in to visit. The receptionist, Melody, was very rude and argumentative with some of our family members. I felt Mom was neglected at times and waited for long periods of time to have her needs met. Some of the nurses were amazing with mom,(Janet, Tiffany and Dora) but others (Jaime and Pam) were very short and rude with Mom and our family. I understand that they were short staffed most of the time but that does not mean that the residents should have subpar care. Mom did not get the OT and PT that was ordered for her and I would hate to see how she would have been treated if our family wasn’t there as much as we were. When I brought my concerns to management and the Director of Nursing, the visitation suddenly changed to us needing to give them a 24 hour notice and make an appointment to visit. Don’t let a beautiful building kid you. I would not recommend Medilodge of Wyoming.

We had an excellent experience here. My mom recovered from Surgery in record time due to an excellent therapy team. She had fun too with the activities and outings. They even had ducks in the courtyard to entertain.
